Back to St.Nicks today :D
There's no need to state explicitly whether it was the original school site or the holding site, because what is inscribed on the school building really resonates-'Wherever we are, the St.Nicks spirit still lives on'. Best line I've seen written on a school so far-there's no need for the cliched and unconvincing things like 'together we strive for the best' and 'to lead and serve with passion'. It's true; we don't need the genuine physical surroundings to completely feel at home, because as long as the students are there, the teachers and admin like mrs. goh around, the blue and white colours of IJ schools and people just doing what they like, working hard and playing hard in pinafores, this is it. This is SN <3
The holding site is actually quite nice in the old-school fashion! Anyway vintage/retro is so in now we're like keeping up with the times. Can tell the admin all that really did their best to bring the original homely feeling over to the school building, with the father barre statue in the quad and all the original furniture and things brought over. Plus all the yummy food is still there :D Yay. We just kind of explored the place a little and went to nua and have fun at the huahui room (the split kind of made things feel a little different. Eep. Must jiayou jiayou), talked to laoshis, saw mrs. goh and some other teachers and talked. So old now and so many people can't really recognize us anymore, then when Miss Chan saw us she was like 'see you on monday' when we're already one year past the just-graduated stage. I miss those times! Talking to Mrs.Goh, you really get a sense of how deeply integrated into the SN culture she is, and how passionate she is about everything. I mean has there ever been a VP of the school who talks to students like they are her friends and is so pumped up with ideas and enthusiasm for every activity that goes on in the school? Like we were at the second level and she was just watching the LD people doing their cheers, and commenting on how the sec ones would always be so baffled at times like this and wondering if they'll turn out like that at the end of their four years here. She so genuinely cares and she just takes so much pride in how the entire school experience can change the development of a naive and wide-eyed thirteen year old. Such an awesome role model :DD Relieving all these kinds of experiences makes me really want to go back again instead when we start school this coming Monday! I just want to take the train to Bradell and walk down that path with other people and go to school. Sigh. There's even a Macs near the MRT just like the St.13 Macs. Business sure booming for them haha :D
Idk if I'll be able to make it back the next few months to help out with Qihang and stuff what with school and huangcheng as well. But it was a nice visit before school starts I guess! Then after that hh and I met Ahma who went back also then met jane peilin at AMK! Yay nice food. Kind of hard to do our gift exchange today though cos got people missing ): But nevertheless fun luh hurr. Thankyou HH for the muji markers! (She says got thick side and thin side so will go through thick and thin -.- So corny). Plus nice notes and other random stuff. I love letters! I shall resolve to dedicating more time and effort to writing letters and stuff this year! Then we just kind of went crazy with Ahma's wii and Sara kept on thrashing us at everything haha. They got advantage of being on home ground okay! Hurr. Somehow we managed to entertain ourselves with random games and whatnot until like evening, then I decided to skip the p6 dinner cos it was quite stupid to leave ahma's house early since we only got there around 3 plus. Eep 2 consecutive years never go gathering already! But never mind luh. Got chance again :D Then dinner, and random walking around, ending with buying diary at art box that concludes the day. Preparation for school by getting nice things! Yay. Let it be a happy school year!
Currently flooded with lots of messages from SMB after not checking for like, uh, weeks -.- Timetable this year not as shiok cos most dismissal times around 2 or 3pm then we can't really end school very early. There are some days when there are like 2 hour breaks? (Can imagine scenes of jetting off to high school to eat noodles. Hurr). Then there are some lousy stuff like math tutorial first thing on monday morning (sian :/) and lectures and tutorials of the same subject being back-to-back. So there'll be like consecutive 2 hours of math or history or something. Meh. I wonder how CT life with Mr. Quek will be like. Oh and Mrs. Sim shall be taking us for Math! YAY :D She writes cute SMB messages like Mr. Lau does. Awwwww.
